Local Artist Daniel Boone to Display Work at SCHF

The SCHF will host an exhibit of works by local artist Daniel Boone entitled, “Vicksburg:  Before the Lights Go Out.”  It will feature a collection of photoserigraphs, which are black and white photos and digital transfer prints colorized through the process of silkscreening.   Subjects include service stations, grocery stores, diners, barbecue joints, cabstands, and street vendors, all taken after dark.  For the first time, Boone’s original black and white photos will be displayed along with the resulting serigraphs.  Boone began the collection over twenty years ago and continues to add new images.

Opening night for the exhibit will be May 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the SCHF Academy Building.   The exhibit will be free and open to the public on weekday afternoons from May 11 to June 22.  For more information, call the SCHF offices at (601) 631-2997.
