The Mississippi Museum of Art has designated the Cobb House as an affiliate site

Thank you to all who joined SCHF in welcoming the Mississippi Museum of Art to Vicksburg. The selection of the Cobb House as the newest affiliate site for the Mississippi Museum of Art is truly a great accomplishment for SCHF and for Vicksburg.

Throughout the year we will be able to see exhibits from the Museum's permanent collection right in here in Vicksburg! We look forward to the upcoming exhibits and are grateful for the chance to utilize the newly restored Cobb House for the benefit of the community.

In order to prepare the Cobb House for its first exhibit, a few site preparations are needed. We would like to offer special thanks to Ray Neilsen and Ameristar Casino for being the lead corporate benefactor for those changes. The additions include ultraviolet protective material for the many windows in the Cobb House, as well as panels and museum quality track lighting.

We would also like to thank Pat Cashman and The Vicksburg Post for sponsoring the reception announcing the affiliate relationship between MMA and the Cobb House.

The Southern Book Club meets on the third Wednesday of each month. There is no fee and it is open to the public.  New members are welcome.
